Redmond 4th of July Parade & Fireworks

Saturday, July 4 · Parade 10:00 AM · Fireworks ~10:00 PM · Downtown Redmond & Deschutes County Fairgrounds

Redmond leans hard into its "Flag City, USA" identity on the Fourth — over 1,600 American flags line the streets of downtown, and the annual parade is a genuine community event with about 80 entries including floats, marching bands, horses, classic cars, and local organizations.

  • Parade — 10:00 AM sharp along 6th Street between NW Dogwood Ave and SW Forest Ave
  • Flags everywhere — nearly 2,000 U.S. flags line 5th, 6th, Highland, Glacier, and Evergreen streets from 6 AM
  • Downtown festivities — food, drinks, and local businesses throughout the day
  • Fireworks — launched from the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center at approximately 10:00 PM, visible from most of Redmond

Parking note: the Fairgrounds lot is not open for fireworks viewing — park along 19th Street or at the Redmond Caves parking lot. Juniper Golf Course offers reserved lawn seating with a BBQ and beverages for the fireworks show (call 541-548-3121 to reserve — one car per RSVP).

Bend Pet Parade & Pilot Butte Fireworks

Saturday, July 4 · Parade 9:30 AM · Fireworks 10:00 PM · Downtown Bend & Pilot Butte

Bend's Fourth of July is built around two things: a century-old pet parade in the morning and a fireworks show off the top of Pilot Butte at night. In between, the city buzzes with river floats, brewery patios, live music, and warm summer energy.

  • Pet Parade — 9:30 AM from Harmon Park, east on Newport Ave, down Wall St to Drake Park. 102nd year running. No registration required — show up in costume. Dogs most common, but past entrants have included goats, pigs, horses, and lizards. No rabbits, cats, or aggressive animals.
  • Freedom Float — informal Deschutes River float tradition in red, white and blue, Riverbend Park to Drake Park. Not an official event but a beloved local tradition.
  • Drake Park festivities — live music, food carts, bounce castles, and lawn space throughout the afternoon
  • Lake Street Dive concert — July 2 (pre-holiday) at Hayden Homes Amphitheater for those arriving early for the weekend
  • Pilot Butte Fireworks — 10:00 PM, launched from Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint. 20-minute show visible from most of Bend. Best viewing at Providence Park or Ponderosa Park. Note: personal fireworks are banned within Bend city limits.

Fireworks from the ranch: Depending on conditions and the year, residents have occasionally been able to see distant fireworks from higher points on Crooked River Ranch. It varies — don't count on it — but it's worth checking from the canyon rim. The Big Dog Saloon and The Edge Taphouse are both worth checking for any ranch-specific Fourth events, as the community sometimes organizes informal gatherings.

A note about 2026 specifically

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence — America's semiseptennial — which means most communities across Central Oregon are planning larger-than-usual celebrations. Redmond's parade, Bend's Pet Parade (now in its 102nd year), and Sisters 4th Fest are all expected to draw larger crowds than typical years. Plan for traffic and arrive early to events you care about most.

The July 4th weekend also coincides with peak summer in Central Oregon. If you're a current Copper Ridge resident heading into Bend or Sisters, leave extra time — Hwy 97 and Hwy 20 both see significant holiday weekend traffic. Earlier is better for everything.
